Steven A. Webster
Board Member
Mr. Webster has been an active investor and leader in venture capital and private equity for over four decades, with a primary focus on the energy, real estate, and industrial sectors. In 1988, he founded Falcon Drilling, initially a single barge rig operation, and as CEO led a successful consolidation and growth strategy. By 1997, Falcon had evolved into R&B Falcon Corporation (NYSE: FLC), one of the world's largest offshore drilling companies.
Throughout his career, Mr. Webster has served as a lead investor, director, and chairman for numerous public energy companies, including Carrizo Oil & Gas, Callon Petroleum (Carrizo’s successor), Grey Wolf Drilling, Hercules Offshore, Seacor Holdings, Seabulk International, Brigham Exploration, Goodrich Petroleum, ERA Group, Basic Energy Services, and Hi-Crush Partners. He has held chairmanship roles at Falcon Drilling, Carrizo Oil & Gas, and Basic Energy Services.
In real estate, Mr. Webster became a founding Trust Manager of Camden Property Trust in 1993, a publicly traded REIT specializing in multifamily residential properties. He continues to be active in a wide range of real estate investment ventures and currently serves on Camden’s board.
Following the sale of R&B Falcon to Transocean in 2000, Mr. Webster joined DLJ Merchant Banking, where he led the firm's energy sector investments across upstream, midstream, and service verticals. In 2005, he co-founded Avista Capital Partners, a private equity firm investing in healthcare and energy, which he helped lead through 2018.
Mr. Webster continues to be actively involved in private investments across the energy sector. He has played a leadership role in the development and growth of companies such as Laramie Energy, Empresa Energy, Enduring Resources, Peregrine Oil & Gas, Ganador Oil & Gas, HighPoint Midstream, Ventana Midstream, Somerset Gas Transmission, ClearWell Dynamics, Gran Lago Services, and Gulf Land Structures. He also serves on the board of Oceaneering International (NYSE: OII).
Mr. Webster holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Purdue University, where he also received an honorary doctorate in business. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.
Roy T. Oliver
Board Member
Mr. Oliver is a seasoned entrepreneur and executive with extensive experience in banking, energy, and real estate. He currently serves as Chairman and Principal Shareholder of Valliance Bank, N.A., and is President of R.T. Oliver Investments, Inc., a diversified investment firm with holdings in energy, energy services, and commercial real estate. His real estate portfolio encompasses more than 2 million square feet of high-rise office space.
In 1980, Mr. Oliver founded U.S. Rig & Equipment, Inc., leading the company as President until its sale in August 2003. He played a key role in the formation and governance of Grey Wolf Drilling Co., where he served on the board from 1995 to 2003. Under his tenure, Grey Wolf operated more than 120 land drilling rigs.
Mr. Oliver also served as an Independent Director of SandRidge Energy, Inc. from July 2006 to February 2015. His leadership and insights were instrumental during a critical period of the company's growth.
A graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Mr. Oliver is a member emeritus of the Michael F. Price College of Business Board of Advisors, reflecting his ongoing commitment to education and business leadership.
W. Brad James
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Brad James is a seasoned executive in the offshore drilling industry, with over forty years of leadership experience. He currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Offshore Drilling LLC; a company he helped establish in 2016. Under his leadership, Enterprise has grown into a leading provider of offshore drilling services, recognized for its operational excellence and a culture that prioritizes its people.
A 1981 graduate of Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Brad has built a distinguished career in the energy sector. Before founding Enterprise, he was Senior Vice President of Marketing at Hercules Offshore, where he led global marketing efforts for the company’s drilling divisions. He also held a range of senior leadership roles at major firms including Transocean, R&B Falcon, Cliffs Drilling, Field Drilling and Southland Drilling.
In 2024, Brad was elected Chairman of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), where he now serves as Immediate Past Chairman and a member of the IADC’s Executive Committee. He also sits on the board of the IADC DrillersPAC, actively contributing to the advancement of industry advocacy and policy.
Brad’s career reflects a deep commitment to the offshore drilling industry and a proven ability to lead organizations through dynamic and challenging markets.
David R. Hatcher
Board Member
Mr. Hatcher is a seasoned energy industry executive with over four decades of global experience in operations, finance, and leadership roles. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas in 1978 and is a Certified Public Accountant. His career has spanned key markets across North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Hatcher began his career with Zapata Offshore Company, where he held a range of operational, marketing, and accounting roles in locations including Houston, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, and New Zealand. He later served as Drilling Division Controller at Cliffs Drilling Company and advanced to Vice President of Venezuela Operations for both Cliffs Drilling and Transocean.
His international leadership continued as District Manager for West Africa at Transocean in Luanda, Angola, and as Manager of Latin America for TODCO and subsequently Hercules Offshore. He was later appointed Vice President of International Operations at Hercules Offshore, overseeing complex offshore drilling activities in diverse global regions.
In 2017, Mr. Hatcher became Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Enterprise, playing a key role in its formation and growth. He transitioned to serve on the company’s Board of Directors in 2023.
